Our main shop needed a new welder, I decided on the Miller 255 for its portability and the fact that it had MIG steel and MIG aluminum, with Pulse option. The Big seller on this welder was its small foot print, making it portable. Often we have to fork lift an entire welder 12-15 into the air to reach a position on a semi trailer that needs repair. Fork lifting an entire welder with tanks on it is not ideal, and the operator of the welder is very limited to what they can do.
With hose extensions this welder would allow us to fork lift the welder into position, leaving the tanks on the ground and full access to the welder where the operator is at.
