These fuel gauge plans utilize an ESP32 mini, The code can be used with any ESP32 but the large versions will not fit in the gauge body.

Whats different about the complex version compared to standard free version?

The standard version only has code for a single color option, value read out and offers no functionality beyond reading the fuel.

This complex version is coded with these added features:

Screen Bootup sequence. This added feature makes the gauge more dynamic compared to the standard version as it boots, it increments the fuel bar like its calculating the fuel level.
Low Fuel Warning. This added feature eliminates the need for an external warning light. The warning flashes when the fuel level is low. This low level can be changed to any value you chose.
10 different changeable color options that can be toggled on the fly with a push button
All 10 color options have a 5 color range of color variety’s in the fuel bar.
Example: Color 1: 5% fuel left Color 2: 10% fuel left Color 3: 30% fuel left Color 4: 80% fuel left Color 5: 100% fuel
24 color options that can be chosen from in the code.
Built in Dimmer input, connect to your lights for automatic screen dimming with Changeable Dimmer percentage in code
3 Fuel Value options that can be toggled on the fly with a push button, Gallons, Liters, Percentage. Gallon and Liter Fuel value options can be changed to any value of your choice with new calculations in the code.

File Types in this package

The 3d files in this package can be opened in Fusion 360 and all the individual components can be changed as desired. They can also be opened in Blender/Other 3d Program for modeling as they are to real world scale.

2 Arduino code files exist in this package. One file is a heavily formatted version with tabs to make code editing very user friendly. The other file has no tabs and its the full code on one page.

Code Example

The code is done in Arduino IDE with tabs for user friendly changes. The first tab is all the editable functions. All other tabs do not need to be changed unless your experienced with code.

All values have comments about what they mean and how they function in the code.

Wiring

Easy to interpret wiring pictural makes wiring painless. For experienced users the relay can be swapped with a transistor and the push buttons can be used with a touch 3 button membrane keypad.
