    Information about Files

    In 2024 we redesigned our rear cross member from a tubular design to a flat steel design that can be CNC Cut. This design offers weight savings, it is much easier to install and allows the user to use shims to space the cross member precisely to allow clearance of the down pipe.  This design is so much easier we decided to offer the files for personal DIY use. 

    With these files you can fabricate your own rear cross member using local or online services by utilizing the files to CNC cut the materials. This design allows the user to utilize the lower mount feature at any time and its included in the download.  Build and attach the lower mount now or later on.

    What’s required to Fabricate this cross member using these files

    • You will need access to a machine capable of reading DXF CAD File, such as waterjet, plasma table or fiber laser.
    • You will need a welder capable of welding the material thickness that you choose.
    • Materials documented in the materials list.

    Fitment

    • This cross member will fit the 2nd Generation Mazda Mx6, 626 and Ford Probe Models with the V6 Engine and Manual Transmission. It has not been tested on other models but is very likely to fit.

    Adding a Turbo?

    The DIY Front Cross Member  was designed for the average novice with general welding skills. This cross member is necessary if your adding a turbo to your KLDE engine or just looking for a clean-up of the engine bay. The cross member design features shortened end brackets with larger elongated holes for easy installation. The end bracket design features 1.75ID cut holes that allow a 1.75OD tube to be slid thru for easy mockup.  A built in Prothane Polyurethane bushing (90 duro) allows for a quick, inexpensive install that allows for extra clearance of turbo hot & cold pipes.   Added to the end bracket’s is towing loops for easy tow strap placement, allowing your vehicle to be pulled without bumper damage.

    We supply the difficult to design CNC cut parts, you supply tubing of your choice. ERW tubing is inexpensive and available most anywhere. DOM Tubing is much stronger and can be found in many thickness’s.   This is an ideal choice for international buyers as these parts can ship in a flat rate box.  The easiest way to fabricate this setup is to mount the end brackets to your vehicle, measure the inside dimensions of the brackets, cut your tube to those dimensions and tack weld it in place.  Then attach the polyurethane bushing assembly to the motor mount bracket, measure from your tube to the bushing, and tack weld that in place.  Once all parts are tack welded, remove the assembly and finish welding.

    Features:

    • All materials are deburred, wire wheeled and/or bead blasted prior to shipping.

    • (2) Motor mount brackets (your style choice) cut for 1.75″ OD Tubing
    • (1) Outer sleeve for polyurethane bushing
    • (1) Polyurethane Bushing with inner sleeve.
    Not Included:

    Tubing – You will need Approx. 43inches of 1.75″ OD Tubing to make this cross member.

    Why isn’t tubing included? generally the tubing is inexpensive from a local metal supplier, but due to the length of tubing required, shipping the tubing is excessively expensive.
