We have developed a rear cross member that cuts down on cost and makes installation & removal much easier.

This cross member is designed to be completely do it yourself! 

What is involved with doing it your self?

  • If you choose the “without lower mount” option,  This crossmember comes in unfinished bare metal and will only require paint.
  •  If you choose the “with lower mount” option, This crossmember will also require paint but minor fabrication of bending an L bracket to size and weld a mount that fits together like a puzzle making it very easy to weld without a JIG.

Options:

  • Without Lower Mount : This option is best suited for when using the OEM front to back cross member and it is designed to allow you to purchase and add our DIY lower mount at a later time. 
  • With Lower Mount: This option is best suited for when using the King6fab Front turbo cross member and includes the lower mount with Polyurethane bushing & transmission bracket attachments.

Spacer Design:

The new cross member is designed to utilize spacers that can be layered to precisely make clearance for your needs.   

Spacers can be bought in steel or aluminum in various sizes, they also can be 3D Printed or download the template to choose a DIY material of your choice.

Using spacers will require longer Metric bolts to attach the cross member to the subframe.

This spacer design was created to be a cost effective way to precisely space the rear cross member for downpipe clearance.

Material

  • A36 Steel – This material is less expensive and is the same material the rear cross member is made from but will require paint.
  • 5052 Aluminum – This material will not require paint, weighs about half of the A36 Steel option but cost much more.

Alternatively, we offer files to cut or 3D Print your own spacers.  the STL file to 3D print the spacers if you prefer.

Production vehicles are built using rubber bushings in control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars, and shocks. Additionally, rubber components can be used for: sway bar end links, coil spring pads, leaf spring pads, and suspension bump stops. While rubber components offer a soft side, for typical driving conditions, they tend to deteriorate rapidly from exposure to the elements and constant use! This contributes to premature component failure, resulting in a “spongy” ride and loss of performance handling. PROTHANE™ Urethane is impervious to the elements, gas, and oil, will not rot and is strongerthan rubber.
