We have developed a rear cross member that cuts down on cost and makes installation & removal much easier.
This cross member is designed to be installed directly using the existing bolts from your OEM cross member.
Every cross member is precut to accept a lower mount that can be purchased with a cross member or a later date individually. Every cross member is designed to accept spacers that allow you to lower the cross member for exhaust down pipe clearance.
Every cross member is designed to accept a lower mount to add rigidity to the transmission, decreasing engine deflection and wheel hop.

If you are purchasing or have already purchased a DIY Rear Cross member, we offer these spacers that can allow you to shim the cross member lower to allow for more downpipe clearance. All spacers are CNC cut from flat plate.
Material Options:
A36 Steel Plate
Pros: cost effective and strong
Cons: will rust without paint, not easily modified, heavy.
5052 Aluminum plate
Pros: lightweight, rust resistant, no paint required.
Cons: higher cost.
Thickness Options:
All thickness options are from solid plate. Such as 1/2″ thick is a solid piece made into a spacer, not multiple spacers totaling 1/2. For a lower cost solution in this example, (2) 1/4″ spacers can be combined to make 1/2″

The DIY Front Cross Member was designed for the average novice with general welding skills. This cross member is necessary if your adding a turbo to your KLDE engine or just looking for a clean-up of the engine bay. The cross member design features shortened end brackets with larger elongated holes for easy installation. The end bracket design features 1.75ID cut holes that allow a 1.75OD tube to be slid thru for easy mockup. A built in Prothane Polyurethane bushing (90 duro) allows for a quick, inexpensive install that allows for extra clearance of turbo hot & cold pipes. Added to the end bracket’s is towing loops for easy tow strap placement, allowing your vehicle to be pulled without bumper damage.
We supply the difficult to design CNC cut parts, you supply tubing of your choice. ERW tubing is inexpensive and available most anywhere. DOM Tubing is much stronger and can be found in many thickness’s. This is an ideal choice for international buyers as these parts can ship in a flat rate box. The easiest way to fabricate this setup is to mount the end brackets to your vehicle, measure the inside dimensions of the brackets, cut your tube to those dimensions and tack weld it in place. Then attach the polyurethane bushing assembly to the motor mount bracket, measure from your tube to the bushing, and tack weld that in place. Once all parts are tack welded, remove the assembly and finish welding.
Features:
This item includes all the CNC cut metal parts to fabricate a front cross member.
All materials are deburred, wire wheeled and/or bead blasted prior to shipping.
(2) Outer mounting brackets cut for 1.75″ OD Tubing
(2) Motor mount brackets (your style choice) cut for 1.75″ OD Tubing

(1) Polyurethane Bushing with inner sleeve.
Not Included:
Tubing – You will need Approx. 43inches of 1.75″ OD Tubing to make this cross member.
